Review "The largest textbook ever published on this topic and a comprehensive reference source on the diagnosis and management of all types of ocular cancers." - Cole Eye Institute Ophthalmology Update, April 2007 "This outstanding book addresses not only new understanding of basic principles in the etiology of cancer but also the newest clinical diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for all ocular and orbital malignancies. The wide range of authors represented in the book provides a broad international perspective on the management of ophthalmic disease. Short chapters are extremely detailed and well referenced with up-to-date and appropriate evidence based articles. The illustrations, diagrams, and color photographs are of the highest quality and provide clear elucidation of the text. The book is intended for any physician involved in the care of patients with ocular or orbital malignances." - Joan O'Brien, Professor of Ophthalmology, University of California, San Francisco"Clinical Ophthalmic Oncology presents a wealth of information regarding a rapidly advancing ophthalmic specialty. Scientific perspective is strengthened by the expertise of five editors and 124 contributing authors from 18 countries. Ophthalmologists in all subspecialties will find valuable information in Clinical Ophthalmic Oncology. The book is comprehensive in scope, clear in presentation and strengthened by appropriate tables and figures. In addition, the enclosed CD provides all figures in a format suitable for viewing, export and PowerPoint presentation. The authors are to be commended for this timely and well-prepared text." - B R Straatsma, British Journal of Ophthalmology, March 2008"Clinical Ophthalmic Oncology provides up-to-date information on the entire spectrum of intraocular as well as ocular adnexal tumours and simulating conditions. The text is easy to read and well illustrated. The book is published in colour, which adds greatly to its usefulness as a reference source and guide in the clinic. It also comes with a CD incorporating some of the illustrations and figures in a downloadable format. An extremely valuable resource for ocular oncologists as well as general ophthalmologists who have an interest in the field, it should also be a helpful resource for other physicians involved in the care of the eye tumour patients." - Eye Review, 2008

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Best Current Book in this Subject By Ocular/Orbital Surgeon This is the best ocular oncology book to be published in recent years. This book blows the Shields' books out of the water and the Albert book doesnt even come close. This is the best ocular oncology book to come along since Devron Char's last book. The chapters are well written by experts in the field and the pictures and illustrations seem to be very good. Some topics are covered in great detail, like retinblastoma which occupies 100 pages of the book whereas other tumors are covered more generally. Melanoma management, perhaps what ocular oncologists see most commonly, could have been covered in greater detail. A few case scenarios or examples would have been good as well as perhaps some examples of surgical pictures of plaques adjacent to the optic nerve or under muscles. The CD is just pictures. Highly recommend this book.
