It combines some aspects of a memoir of Saint John's memories of his childhood, his famous CIA agent father E. Howard Hunt, and his less-famous CIA agent mother Dorothy, with quite a bit of historical research. Did Howard Hunt have a roll in CIA-sponsored Latin American political coups? That is in the historical record. While a reader might discount somewhat the author's childhood memories, it would be foolish to discount his memory of helping to dispose of evidence of his father's role in the Watergate break in. The author admits that lawyers (paid with Nixon cash) advised him to lie to a grand jury, which he did. He also confirms Dorothy's roll as a go-between, shuffling cash from the Nixon apparatus to the Watergate burglars to keep them quiet. On the other hand, anyone who wants to doubt Saint John's testimony can point to his admission that he began smoking marijuana at a young age. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to know what it might be like to have a CIA agent as a mother, or who is interested in the details of the Bay of Pigs operation, the Kennedy assassination, or Watergate and its aftermath.

Some reviewer is bound to give such important book one star and ignore its content altogether. "Dorothy" is one of the most important book you could ever read. It exposes a very ugly truth about the world that we live in, which has its roots in the JFK assassination. The undeniable ugly truth is within the pages of "Dorothy". Thank you Mr. Hunt for having the courage to bring to light what "they" did to your mother & for bringing her extraordinary story to the world.

To know Dorothy is to love her, respect her and fear her By Damon Ise "Dorothy" is a magnificent perception piercing biography about the late wife of E Howard Hunt. To know Dorothy is to love her, respect her and fear her.The ever loving Mother of St. John Hunt comes to life in this intricate and intimate expose' about Dorothy, the CIA and daily life in the Hunt household.Saint John shares the joys, tears, strains and tension surrounding his CIA oriented family. He exposes the agony of having his family fractured by Watergate scandal. With a husband in prison, and several young children still at home, Dorothy sought to protect her children and the family's financial security. She demanded hush money from the Nixon administration and intended to get it at all cost. Dorothy Hunt was murdered by the powers that be for blackmailing people in very high places. This book is totally about the content. There are many typos but they don't detract from the material. This book comes straight from the heart of Dorothy's closest treasure, her son.Read it!You wont be able to put it down.
