About the Author Michael Andrew Grissom, recipient of the Oklahoma Heritage Distinguished Service Award and the United Daughters of the Confederacy’s prestigious Jefferson Davis Medial, is the author of eleven books. In 1996, he wrote the inscription for Tennessee’s Confederate monument in Vicksburg National Military Park, and in 2004 he wrote the inscription for the Confederate monument in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He has earned two degrees from the University of Oklahoma and has lived in both Tennessee and Oklahoma.

This is a super read, but beware: your opinion of Lincoln will probably change. I was captivated from the very first chapter. Diaries, journals, and pictures of the people who lived in the 1860s are haunting. Having read all of Michael Andrew Grissom's books, American Terrorists, Lincoln's Armies in the South is by far his greatest achievement. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in history of America.

By William G Anthony This is a long and sorely needed compendium of TRUTH, right from the written accounts of those who lived it and saw the terrorism happening all around them. The victims, mostly of whom were old men, defenseless women, children and helpless Negroes whose lives were forever changed by the marauding terrorists of Mr. Lincoln's armies in every Southern state! Mr. Grissom has not allowed political correctness and half truths to sugar coat the indisputable facts of how an entire civilization was destroyed by the political and military lunatics that overturned the U.S. Constitution and the founders dream of self government 150+ years ago. The precedents set by the Lincoln administration and its military minions are still with us to this very day, and this book brings the horror of military and political despotism vividly to the mind of anyone who can face the absolute truth of what happened back then by turning its pages. If you are looking for liberal historical revisionist lies and candy coated apologies for what Sherman, Sheridan, Beast Butler, Hunter, and all the rest of Lincoln's professional terrorists did to the South you will not find it here! This should be required reading for every High School history class in America, and especially so for the SOUTH BASHING POLITICIANS! I cannot recommend it highly enough!
