The Zero-Point Universe explores the idea that all forces must be transmitted point-to-point through the vacuum of space through the zero-point field, not by some magical action at a distance. Each force theory is re-examined to determine how it works with respect to transmission by zero-point energy, and along the way we discover, that this limiting condition leaves us with only one set of possibilities and one force responsible for all interactions. The book brings in historical perspectives and reads almost like a mystery novel, as it unravels the mysteries of physics. It is written for someone with only a basic grasp of physics and is clear and easy to understand, while including a few equations and citations to remind the reader that this is serious physics. This exploration ultimately leads to a new and complete theory of the universe that takes the Standard Model of Physics head-on.

The Zero-Point Universe, by Ray Fleming

About the Author Ray Fleming is a physicist who recognized in his undergraduate years that the mainstream physics model leaves many of the most basic questions unanswered while other theories contradict each other or even more basic laws of physics. That being the case it was too risky to pursue a career in academia where one has to be indoctrinated into the standard model and eventually lose the ability to think of anything else, so Ray chose to pursue a career in industry while conducting physics research as a pastime. Ray’s career began as a civilian working in the US Navy nuclear power program, followed by more than a decade testing and designing X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzers used for routine elemental analysis. In the last decade Ray has worked as a health physicist for the State of Texas eventually managing radioactive material licensing for the state. Ray is also a nationally known advocate for timely radioactive source disposal and public and worker protection from naturally occurring radioactive material, including most notably polonium-210 and lead-210. In 1990 as a new employee of a XRF analyzer manufacturer some coworkers introduced Ray to some papers by Dr. Hal Puthoff that attempted to show basic physics phenomena as the result of zero-point energy, the vacuum fluctuations that inhabit all of space. Ray knew instantly that zero-point energy was the answer as it was the only thing that is found everywhere in space, the only thing that could be the medium for all force transmission. So began a 25-year exploration into determining how zero-point vacuum fluctuations interact in each fundamental area of physics.

It is based on experimental data and theoretical analyses developed by many physicists over the past 150 years. Although the basic information has been available to physicists, it has been mostly ignored until now when Fleming has compiled it as the basis of this new theory. The basis of the work is the fact that the vacuum is not empty. Instead it is the Zero Point Universe (ZPU) that has a huge energy density. It is comprised of zero-point energy vacuum fluctuations, which he calls Zeptons that are influenced by van der Waals forces and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. It is the essence of the universe and everything in it-seen and unseen. The book explains the force fields including the strong and weak nuclear forces, the particle-wave nature of the photon, why galaxies form spirals, what is causing the universe to expand, what controls the speed of light, what inertia is, what makes matter attract or repulse (the Electro-Matter force) and shows that mass does not warp space, the universe is flat and the missing matter in the universe is in the ZPU. Of course there is much more. This book is surprisingly easy to read and understand especially for a person with a technical background. In fact I read it almost like a novel at first because of the way it presents the history and descriptions of the experiments and the influences, events and reasons that the existence of the ZPU has been denied and its study and development prevented. As the story unfolded I kept thinking "why doesn't someone pick up on this?" On the technical side, the explanations and descriptions are clear. Some equations are presented and they are surprisingly easy to understand. The book gives many amazing conclusions that remove some long unanswered questions and will challenge many long held beliefs. This will certainly be controversial. I can hardly wait to see the reaction of the physics establishment.

Flemming starts from nothing and build to a grand explanation of the universe tying together disparate concepts in physics in a truly unified theory. What I found remarkable was the simplicity in his explanation of vacuum energy and the effects that charged particles have on virtual particles in the vacuum. This view of the vacuum results in the best explanation of the famous two slit experiment of quantum physics. Mainstream physicists explain away the behavior of the two slit experiment essentially as 'quantum magic'. By combining the idea of zeptons to the two slit experiment its almost completely obvious why the particles exhibit wavelike behavior as a result of the polarized virtual particles in the vacuum proceeding the charged particle's movement in the vacuum. This is the best explanation for the wavelike behavior of particles in the two slit experiment ever presented. There will undoubtedly be a lot of friction from established physics from this discovery and the fallout might be quite large since it adds an amazingly simple explanation of what is currently considered 'quantum magic'. The implications of this explanation may shake up the entire field of quantum physics. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in quantum physics. This book will no doubt become a keystone for the future of physics.

While most of the equations were out of my comfort zone, the accompanying prose made it most understandable. I looked for a paper copy, but could only find the digital version which I read on my phone. I would like to share the book, but most of the people I know that I think would appreciate it are still into paper.I'd recommend this book for anyone with an interest in exploring new ideas, and for those who don't like the lumps in the carpet of our current scientific paradigm from all the inconvenient anomalies in the "Standard Model" which have be swept under it.
